Your DH's b-day cake
I am going home to make Leo a flan for his b-day. It would be so much easier to do an Betty Crocker cake. But the boy loves flan.  What cake does your husband like for his b-day?

that's what my family always did and it is fine for me, I don't know where DH got this notion. I have to stick 28 candles in a flan

His mom makes homemade ice-cream cake. She gets 2 half gallons of different flavors and crushes cookies and some candy in it. It's a family tradition.

we are fools. we dont buy each other birthday cakes really.
last year for mine we went out and he ordered a chocolate cake slice with a candle.
I got him a little cute cupcake/cheescake/pudding thing from this bakery and put some candles in it for him.
but he always makes his mom make him some pistachio (?) cake.

He doesn't really have a favorite bday cake - he just loves all sweets!! There is fruit tart cake at the Walbaum's bakery that's excellent that he loves!
