"you do not have to be fasting" but "please do not eat a full meal" ??

What does that mean exactly? How do you not fast but not eat a full meal before the glucose test? Little snacks? what types of snacks are good to eat beforehand that will help prevent a false positive? Appt would be at 10:45am.

I looked at the sugar content of everything and wound up eating an english muffin with butter--I think it had 1g. I had a morning appointment so I only needed a small breakfast to hold me over.

I guess I would not go to IHOP or Denny's and hit up the all you can eat pancakes Chat Icon, but stick with a bowl of cereal or something light to hold you over.

I had a hard boiled egg and a cheese stick before the test.
I would recommend eating SOMETHING so you don't get woozy from the sugar and blood draw.

However- stick to low carb, low sugar.
Protein is key.
Eggs, cheese, etc

fasted before mine, but I have heard that you can have protein before, since that shouldn't change your blood sugar.

I would eat something small esp if you are doing it in the morning. I would also stay away from anything super sugary like pancakes with syrup. All the sugar in the drink may make you sick if you do it on an empty stomach. I had two egg whites scrambled with cheese and a cup of chocolate milk (I don't put much chocolate in it).

I took my test at 4pm.
Breakfast I had buttered toast and milk
lunch I only ate snack pack pudding and apple sauce (both sugar free)
I passed and was under, i am hoping to get the same results next week
