Re: Updated with question for those who answered GRACO- For those that are registering for a bassinet or pack in play with bassinet for baby to sleep in for first few months...
If I receive the co-sleeper for my shower, then I will put the pack n play downstairs.... if not, I intend on using it as the basinette, yes......
Otherwise it will be downstairs for naps during the day.....

Ok....so we were totally going to use our graco pnp in our bedroom until we received a bassinett at our shower. And I am sure it would have been FINE to use it, but the past two nights it was GREAT to have the pnp in our living room for nighttime diaper changes. I can come down stairs and feed the monster and then change him and bring him back to our room and put him in the bassinett....which rocks (literally) and I really like that feature.

Yes, we are using it in our room for the baby to sleep in at the beginning.

Us too. Baby will sleep in it for the first few months, hopefully, so she's within arm's reach.

**ETA: For those that answered they are getting a graco - pack in play - are you using this as the baby's bassinett in your room - is this where the baby will sleep for the first few months?**
Sorry for the questions I'm just curious as to how many people will actually use the pack in play as a bassinet if this is doable or if i should also register for a bassinet
THANK YOU!
I don't think the bassinet part is firm enough for the night sleeping. I will only use it in the LV.
I have another bassinet for the bedroom which is smaller and fits by my bed.

Really? Oh no, that's the main reason we're getting it, so we don't need a separate bassinet for our room and a PNP for later use, more like a playpen...Now I'm confused about what to do!

I'm not sure exactly how we will use it yet. Our BR and the baby's nursery will be on the 2nd floor, so I thought it would be my downstairs nap/change/holding station.
Upstairs we plan only to have the crib.

I suggest you look at it at the store and see. I have seen some "difference" in firmness from one bassinet to another.

Hmm, I know I felt the one we registered for (Graco Grenada I believe), and it did feel pretty firm, but I'm clueless and thought that's what baby needed to be safe. I better research more now!
