i think i'm confused
so I MC when i was 5 months in january....so we've been TTC since May (so that;s like 5 months now) and my cycle has stretched from 31 to 45 days....so i went to see an RE and she put me on clomid ...and start doing the OPK on my CD19 (which is today) and I have a sono on Wed......DH did a SA cuz i dont know what else we can do to find out why its not working........thing is, i called the RE office to see if i had to do the OPK in the afternoon (which was what they said on the instruction sheet)....then the nurse tells me that i have to do it in the morning and evening and if I get an + OPK to call them right away so we can sched an IUI.....that totally shocked me.....did i misunderstand something???..i thought we were gonna try naturally....cuz i dont know if my insurance will cover an IUI since we havent been trying for a year.....
sorry to rant.....thanks for reading....

Re: i think i'm confused
I'm sure your insurance will cover it. They don't know you haven't been trying for a year and if your RE recommends IUI, the insurance pretty much goes by that. More importantly, check what your insurance covers. All policies are different and you may want to make sure that you aren't going to be paying out of pocket for an IUI.

Re: i think i'm confused
Which part are you confused about?
You should call your insurance company and get a print out of your full coverage regarding IF. This was the first thing I did when I suspected that we had a problem. Now I have a detailed list of exactly what is and isn't covered by our plan.

Do you feel like you're not ready for an IUI?
I think it sounds like a great option! Did you not discuss it with your RE?
Why don't you give them a call tomorrow and tell them that you thought you were just planning on timed intercourse this cycle (if you feel like you're not ready for IUI).
JMO, I would much rather do IUI than timed BD! For me, I think it would relieve a lot of the stress involved with "forced" BDing around O time.

Re: i think i'm confused
i know the instruction sheet that my RE gave me said the same thing about calling the emergency number for an IUI, etc. but we're trying by timing things. i think that protocol is a standard for them and maybe the nurse or whoever you talked to didn't realize what your protocol was. i'd call back and explain the situation - have them check your chart and make sure they're giving you the right information.

Re: i think i'm confused
is there a chance that what she said to you was the 'standard answer' for most people... Like - this is something she gets asked 500 times a day and didn't realize that your case was different??

is there an 100% of PG with IUI?? ....really DUMB question but IUI is just getting DH boys and injecting it into you? and thats it?

Of course there isn't 100% chance of pregnancy with IUI - there isn't 100% chance of pregnancy ever! I think it increases your chances by 20% or something like that.
From what I understand, DH provides a sample and they wash it, then use a catheter to insert it into your uterus. I THINK.
