I have PUPPS
So I posted last week that I had a rash and now they think I might have PUPPS. This is something that usually affects people in the third tri but it seems I get everything early(swelling, soreness, insomnia, etc.) They prescribed me an antihistamine sort of pill but it makes me so tired I can only take it at night. I also have Lidex cream. It's helping a little but the only cure is to deliver I am 21 weeks
It seems to be associated with pregnancies as 70% of women who had it have boys. It also seems to be more prevalent when carrying twins

Re: I have PUPPS
That stinks. My legs were so itchy in the beginning that I have a long scar on one of them from scratching in my sleep. I hope the medications bring you relief fast!

Re: I have PUPPS
I had a horrible case of PUPPP's
Try buying:
Grandpa's Pine Tar Soap Jason's Organic Witch Vera Gel
Shower in luke warm water with the Pine Tar Soap. Turn off the water and let it sit on your skin for a bit. Then rinse with the coolest water you can handle. Then slather in the Witch Vera gel ... (Description: "Cool Witch Vera instantly refreshes tender skin with calming, soothing pure Aloe Vera Gel mixed with natural Witch Hazel - nature's best botanical anti-inflammatory and cooling agent that makes skin feel instantly healed and revitalized.")
It has seriously saved my sanity!!!
You can buy these things at www.drugstore.com
Also, if you get dry skin (which I did) you can try Alba's Botanica Very Emollient Body Lotion in unscented. Description: "Certified organic aloe vera provides skin with an infusion of mineral-rich moisture as well as amino acids, enzymes, proteins, and humectants. Meanwhile, organic chamomile and echinacea speed healing and promote regeneration in dry, cracked skin, while green tea provides powerful antioxidant protection" ... sooo soothing and makes skin very smooth.
Before bed at night I would fill the tub with lukewarm water and Aveeno Oatmeal bath (2-3 packages). I would get up in the middle of the night and just soak, get out, go to sleep, get up, soak, go back to bed, repeat over and over again.
Try to wear as little clothing as you can - the clothes iritate it. At night I slept in a white sheet.
Also, it got so bad, I ended up on Prednisone Steriods for 1 week. 30 mg per day for 1 week. It helped a TON.

Re: I have PUPPS
week 24 I believe .. it peaked about weeks 27-30 ... 3 weeks of no sleep, bleeding skin and lots of mental & emotional breakdowns. Find yourself a good dermatologist ASAP.

Re: I have PUPPS
I am not really sure what that means-- but it doesn't sound fun!
I bet some great lotions/creams and tepid baths will help!
