2018 Nissan Maxima

Anyone have one? The newest style? Probably 2017 was that style too.

I am looking for a new car very soon and kind of had my heart set on the Infiniti Q50 but when you compare what you get with the Nissan it's insane.

For the same price as the Q50, I can get the Platinum Package Maxima- which includes EVERYTHING. You can't even add any extras on to it because it just says- this package has everything- nothing left to add.

It's also a bigger car with a bigger engine (The Q50 is equivalent to the Altima, they look exactly the same. It's probably the same car just with different badging on it since Nissan makes Infiniti)
So the Maxima is definitely bigger.

With the Q50 you have to pay for everything. Even heated seats. I mean I drive a 2006 Pontiac and it came with heated seats. Now it's 12 years later and I'm looking at a luxury car and heated seats are an additional package? Really?
The Maxima Platinum comes with heated seats, heated steering wheel AND air conditioned seats!

No remote start either- have to pay for that too- again my 2006 Pontiac came with that .

I just feel like for my money, I'd be better off with the Maxima, and it's a pretty hot looking car.

Just curious if anyone had one and what they thought.

LOL. Yes. My DH has an Infiniti and his truck doesn't have that. You'd think a luxury car would right?
And I can only imagine what a pleasure that would be on hot days when my black leather seats that have been sitting out in the sun all day burn the shit out of my legs when I'm wearing shorts or a skirt. That has happened on more than one occasion!!

Nissans are great cars. Never had the Maxima, but had the Altima. My honest opinion is I would NEVER get an Infinity, sine Nissan & Infinity are same company. You are paying more for the "name".

My mom has had several maximas over the years and loves them. She finally downsized to the Altima but always loved the maxima (I think her first one was an '89 lol).

Yep you pretty much are. They nickel and dime you for everything. And it's pretty much the same car, rolling off the same assembly line, and they just slap the Infiniti logos on it and charge a fortune for less car.
Don't get me wrong, my DH's Infiniti is very nice but he is actually thinking of going with the Murano when his lease is up- again, bigger truck and you get EVERYTHING in it for the same price as a poorly equipped Infiniti QX50

I have black leather seats and they are air conditioned. It does not work as well as you think. Don't get me wrong, it works, but the seats are still hot. And you need to have the actual ac running in order for the seats to cool.

I never drove the Maxima but have had several Nissan's over the years and have nothing but great things to say about them. My last one had over 200,000 miles on it and in the end the engine was still going it was all the other small things that were going that got to be too much.

I know someone who works for the company and was always told there is no need to spend the extra money for the name -- the parts all come from the same place.

I have the Altima and absolutely LOVE it. I was worried about going from a "luxury" car to a Nissan, but honestly, I didn't notice any difference!

As far as the cooling seats, we also have a lexus RX 350 that has them. I like them but honestly the heated seats are more important to me than the cooling seats!

We have a friend who is a GM at a luxury car dealership - he says the same thing - you're paying for the brand name. I'd say go for the maxima!

Re: 2018 Nissan Maxima

Yeah the AC seats are not a deal breaker or even a necessity. I was just kind of blown away that the 'luxury' brand didn't have them even as an option yet the Nissan had them as standard in the Platinum level

To be honest my current car is so old and gross and outdated that ANYTHING new and modern and up to date will feel amazing...luxury or not.
I don't even have bluetooth phone in my current car.

I have had Nissans for the past 12 years. I had a Maxima a few years ago and LOVED it, I only got the Rogue after it because I thought I felt safer in an SUV during our 6 month season of snow on LI. However last year I was very close to getting a Maxima again instead, they are gorgeous and actually quite roomy.

Re: 2018 Nissan Maxima

thanks all. I might go look at it and drive it.
Anyone have a dealer they recommend?

I hate going to car dealers.

My DH got lucky and we dealt with an awesome guy at Infiniti who was just so laid back and honest and we didn't feel like we were getting screwed.

Anyone have a good, honest, Nissan Dealer?
