Nissan Maxima or Acura TL??
Which would you prefer, any thoughts?
Background:
DH is in the market for a new work car (he drives about 20,000 a year) & wants to get a "family" car. He looked at both over the weekend but is leaning more towards the Maxima (both 08's). I am not sure....Help us please...

The only good thing about the Maxima is you will probably get a good financing deal through Nissan since Maximas are a hard sell right now and they aren't doing well financially.
You might even be able to get 2.9% for 5 years. Since the car itself will be cheaper, you will be paying a lot less for the Nissan.
So I guess you have to weigh whether or not the Acura is worth the extra cash.

This is exactly what DH is doing. He said that the Acura comes out to be $3K more & the monthly payment will be a lot higher. I know DH didn't really get the numbers on the Acura but the Maxima seemed to be a better deal $$ wise.

Yeah that's because the Acura is a more expensive car, and the financing will be more money.
If you are paying cash, i'd get the Acura. But if you have to finance over five years it might be worth looking at the Maxima. You will end up paying well over 5k more for the Acura over a 5 year span.

My family is on their 3rd Maxima. I would definitely buy another one.
Comfy, sporty, roomy and low maintenance.
I have a '99 with over 135k miles on it and going strong!

MAXIMA, MAXIMA, MAXIMA!
The Acura TL is too pricey and smaller than a Maxima. I recommend buying the top of the line Maxima SL.

MY DH gave back his Acrua when his lease was up and now has a Maxima and hates it! He totally regrets giving it back so my vote is for Acura!

We traded our TL for an MDX about 6 months ago and I miss my TL sooooo much. It is an amazing car!!!

Used to own a sentra and then a altima and did not have one complaint about either models...both cars are priced differently so if you can afford either I would go with the acura...if and when you do sell it most likely the blue book value will be higher. Good luck

I love my TL! One thing to remember is that the TL has a VTech engine which requires premium gas. Idk if the Maxima will require premium also...I would think so. But something to look into. I think that you would be happy with either car...they are both great! I saw the concept for the 2009 Maxima on TV today...it's HOT!
