Nissan Maxima
I think I fell in love today.
I'm looking to lease one of the more loaded ones and the way I figure it all with incentives..etc..it can be done in our budget.
So now that I think I need this car..tell me about yours. I'm looking at a model year end 2010.
DH wants the NAV but I don't need it or want it and it would save a boatload of cash.

Re: Nissan Maxima
My Mom just bought a loaded Maxima. This will be her 3rd Max in a row (1st one was a 1992). She loves it, but feels this one is much bulkier than the older models. I drove it, and I do agree with that. It's very chunky and has a big nose.
Do NOT get the integrated GPS. 1) you can't change anything unless the car is in park 2) you can't update it without bringing it to the dealer
You are better off getting a hand-held that you can take out of the car and use in other cars if necessary too.
But all-in-all, the Maxima is a very nice car! If we were to get another sedan, I would definitely go Nissan again!
ETA: on a side note, if you get the sports package, you have to put in high-test gas. My mom wanted to ignore that part, but DH is a mechanic and said that if you spend the $ for the sports pacakge, you have to care for it properly or it will not perform and may also void the warranty

Re: Nissan Maxima
My brother and sister in law just got the Maxima last month - fully loaded. It's beautiful. They didn't get the navigation with it though.
They are leasing it for less than $329/mo...they got a sick deal for it really.

Re: Nissan Maxima
My mom has a fully loaded Altima with the Nav. I don't care for the Nissan preloaded nav system but the back up camera is awesome. I prefer the garmin brand nav over the Nissan nav system. We have a car that requires 93 octane gas and I would not do that again.

Re: Nissan Maxima
I had a 2007 Maxima and loooooved it. Was very sad to give it up when the lease ended and I couldn't get another one because I was preggo with #2 and needed something bigger. The ONLY complaint I had was that I felt the car needed a rear window wiper.

Re: Nissan Maxima
I was actually going to find your other post and mention this car.
My DH has the 2009 fully loaded maxima and I LOVE driving it. The pick up is amazing, it is really comfortable to drive in 1 hour+ trips, it is roomy for 4 adults. After DH got his, his work partner got a 2010 one and loves its. I drove his and don't notice any difference between the 2 years.
I really don't think you would be disappointed with it.
ETA: I agree with the previous posters about the nissan nav. , but most navigations are like that. I think you get 3 free months of xm traffic and that feature was really neat and accurate when we had it. I love the back up camera, the best we have had.

I would love to know how she did that because my numbers didn't come close.
I'm not done negotiating but they didn't have a car with the premium package w/o nav so I was negotiating on the fully loaded car and it's pretty pricey.

Now that makes sense.
I'm still going to try to deal by calling other dealers but we may have moved on to an Acura RDX or something else.
Different cars but if we can't afford it then we can't.
Thing is, the car we wanted they don't have. We wanted the SV with the premium package and no nav...they say they rarely make them that way. Most people want the premium package with nav. That and the $595 bank fee! They can kiss my bank fee butt..I have never paid a bank fee.

Thanks I will. Can you believe DH wanted to look at the Caddy CTS! We saw it at the dealership and it's waaaaaay out of our price range.
It also is waaaaaaayyy too much car.
I like the Acura a lot..hopefully we can swing that. Not looking to break the bank..for that matter we would look at the Audi A6..gorgeous.

Not exactly sure what the specifics are - like if they put $$ down, but they said they were there for almost 7 hours negotiating over the numbers. Every time they got up to leave, the sales guy would say "wait wait wait...how about this number?" Not sure if the guy was desperate to make a sale...

We LOVE Acura. We had a TL and now we have the MDX. Kim and my mom both had the TSX. They are GREAT cars!
I am sooo not surprised that your DH wants to see the Caddy CTS....my hubby would be checking it out too...they are really nice.
Any way you slice it you are going to end up with a nice car :)

I had a similar experience however we had 3 times when the sales guy wouldn't let us leave.
We left and they called us 5 mins later asking us why we didn't purchase. They just didn't have the car I wanted or could afford. I am not buying a $40K car..that was not my intention.

Re: Nissan Maxima
I am in a similar situation. I am looking to possibly lease an altima. I LOVEEE the maxima, but its just a bit more than what I really wanna be spending per month. They told me the base maxima would be around $358 per month will only 1st payment up front, not sure about taxes. I really want the leather though, which the cheapest I found was $35k with leather, fully loaded was $39K
One dealer in particular was also VERY annoying. They would not let us leave, then would bring over their manager, and then literally chased us out of the showroom because we wanted to leave. I HATE being hounded and hassled like that.

I have another dealer looking for the car I want and doing the numbers.
I really don't know why the other dealer wouldn't do a search.

Re: Nissan Maxima
If you are a member of Costco or know someone who is, I would try their car buying program. After seeing the numbers floating around on this thread I know my mom and brother both paid a ton less than what you are getting quoted and that was for purchasing a car.
