2 year old Lead & CBC blood test

2 year old Lead & CBC blood test
My doctor said that NYS requires a lead and CBC test at 1 yr & 2 yr. I got the test at 1 yr. no problems with getting the blood drawn. This time around- bad experience and we didnt get any blood.
My question is.. does your doctor require a 2 year blood test as well?
I kind of feel it is silly when she just had it done last year and we have a newer house, etc.

I never did the 1 year but they did ask us to do it at 1 and again 2. I feel its a bit much.
My ped never said it was law. I refused the 1 year with no problem.

We did 1 and 2 year... It is important to test for lead and other stuff IMO. It can show low iron and other ailments that your toddler may not show signs of or he/she can't tell you something doesn't feel right...We did the lab for the 2nd year and it was an awesome experience!!!

We did the 1 yr and 2 yr at the lab for both ~ I think It is so important to have the lead checked.

I did the 1 year and will be doing the 2 year as well. I feel that lead exposure in the first year is so limited because they aren't moving or mouthing things for the majority of that year. Between 1 & 2 they are more all over the place. Newer house or older house, there are more factors to.exposure than just that.
The CBC is important as well I feel because the first year they are on formula or breast milk and their vitamin and mineral intake is more regulated. Between 1 & 2 they start eating regular meals and might not be getting all the adequate nutrition they need. Iron is most important, especially in my DS who was a preemie. A lot of people don't know that too much calcium can inhibit proper iron absorption (according to my ped) so checking it is very important to avoid anemia issues.

Our dr does but they do an in office fingerstick (even at 1 year old). I think they do it even at 3 and 4.
I feel it is SUPER important b/c you just never know. Not something to brush aside.
