1yr TTC thats it, I am at a loss....

I feel awful, AF came 4 days earlier than planned and I officially give up. I am sitting at work feeling po'd that its another month gone by of trying with no result. My friend at work noticed me being pms'y and said "sorry you got your friend" I almost started crying right in the hall. How frustrating, and DH just doesnt know what to say but "we can just keep trying". I have a GYN appt this month and I am afraid shes going to say theres nothing wrong with you. I know I am not alone that many other girls have gone through this and have eventually gotten there BFP so thanks for reading my vent.

Things adding to my not-getting-preg-pms-dont talk to me attitude.
I got a call that my friends mom died yesterday and a follow up call my uncle is in ICU and needs stat surgery.

Make an appointment with an RE - thats probably what your gyno is going to recommend anyway.

I was in the same boat as you (but at 9 months of trying) and since i'm about to turn 37 i figured i'd go to the dr to see what they can do. My gyno sent DH for a sperm analysis - thats the first step to make sure his guys are swimming and are plentiful. Then assuming thats ok, they'll move on to you. They'll take loads of bloodwork, send you for testing (an ultrasound to check out your uterus for cysts, fibroids), then probably an HSG (sonogram of your fallopian tubes) to make sure they're open and the eggs can flow thru.
Finding out that nothing is wrong with you is a good thing, don't worry!

I know its frustrating, but i can tell you that just the simple act of taking the next step and going to the dr made a huge difference in how we're feeling about this process. It's almost like we're still doing the same things, but now we're being monitored and we've got 'extra' help. Just knowing that has helped us feel a lot better about it.
We'll see what happens this month (fingers crossed), but if it doesn't happen, at least we know there's a plan and we've got help.

A year is a long time to wait for something that you want so badly.. but it doesn't mean that it's not going to happen.

Im so sorry you are having a hard time. Jusit because i'm trying to send you some pocitive thoughts...

I have a super close friend. She and her DH had been trying for almost 2 years. They saw every Dr possible and they all said the same ' You're fine'. It was annoying, upsetting, heartbreaking... the works. She and her DH talked about it and accepted it just wasnt meant to be. They stopped using the OPK's, stopping taking temps and charting. 2 months later, she breaks her ankle. Goes to ER and they ask (like always) ' Any chance you may be preg?', before doing the xray. She says ' I guess there is always a chance'.

The tech makes her POAS ' just to be sure'....... BFP!!! She now has a beautiful 11 month old and is hoping to be blessed again.

I wish you all the best, and send you lots and lots of .

I'll even say an extra prayer for you tonight that if by some chance, God was going to make it my turn for a BFP, that he skip over me this month and go straight to you. Good luck!!!!

Definitley look into making an appt with an RE. Call your insurance. They can let you know which RE's take the insurance. The process will move along A LOT faster!

Based on experience and not being able to conceive I HIGHLY suggest going to see an RE. It was the BEST thing I ever did!! After dealing with my OB/GYN for a few years and not getting anywhere I made an appt. with an RE. I started with them in Sept. 2007, they did a complete work up on me and DH to identify the problem, started on Metformin, had an IUI and was pregnant by New Year's. That's 4 months compared to the almost 2 years of TTC and getting nowhere with the OB/GYN. I would make an appt. and hopefully in no time at all you will be pregnant. Good luck and sorry you're feeling so down.

We're back now at the RE to TTC #2. I wasted no time calling them back and starting the same protocol as last time so hopefully I'll be pregnant again soon. Give them a call.........it's SO worth it!!

I agree with the AP. If you can see an RE without a referral, go!!
I feel like I wasted months by going to my gyno first. Even though I love her, the practice is not equipped to handle fertility issues. An RE's ONLY job is to get you pregnant!
