So far we got DD a puzzle and DH picked out a work bench. We may get her a swing for the backyard, a pair of stride rights, clothes. I've asked others for outdoor toys and puzzles when asked. DD already has a ride on, a shopping cart, the LNL Home and a billion smaller toys and books so I'm just hoping she doesn't get too much.

Ds got a lot of clothes which he needed. He got the playskool rocktivity rider, leap frog activity table, the step 2 sport-tastic gym center (its awesome and small enough for DS to use inside) and Little Tikes Little Champs Sports Center. Plus some other small toys

i like buying bath toys (floating blocks / tub crayons / etc)
although ride-on toys are good for 1 year olds, i refuse to buy them. My nephew received 5 or 6 ride-on toys for his first birthday (out of 30 or so gifts) - i think too many people buy them

My SIL gives personalized beach chairs - I think it's adorable and I can't wait for my DD to get one! I don't know where she gets them from though.

I just ordered one as a gift from lillian vernon. It's a chair and umbrella. I got a personalized towel from PBK to go with it.

I LOVE books.
They last forever & are quite pricey if you want to pick them up yourself.
Just include a gift receipt.
