DD's bday is in the summer. Any ideas for a cute summer theme for her?

Beachy theme (beach balls, pails, shovels, BBQ foods)

DD's B-day is in the summer and at the time she loved Minnie Mouse so we did that, but I saw a cute watermelon theme, pink lemonade, butterflies

I didn't do theme for her first birthday. I just picked a dress I loved and then did decorations in those colors.

this is basically what i was going to suggest if you want a theme.
Or you could just do color scheme instead of an actual theme.

It's not really summer but I saw on etsy or pinterest -something - a Sophie La Giraffe theme!!! It was for a girl and it was adorable -- I stole the idea and boy'd it up for my son's birthday which was 9/9.

You Are My Sunshine
We always sing this song to my DD so we decided to go with that theme for her Aug 1st b-day. All decorations were yellow and some hot pink accents. For favors, we gave out yellow pails filled w/ bubbles, sidewalk chalk, sunglasses and a beach ball. I used pintrest a lot for decoration ideas.

I have boys, but I continued the room theme for my 1st's 1st bday and will do the same for my little one. It can be hard if they don't have favorite characters, but ds1 had a monster themed room (and my shower was monster themed), so I did a monster birthday. My nickname for DH is monster, so I was a little monster obsessed! Ds2 has a superhero themed room and will be having a superhero themed party. I've seen a lot of girl super hero stuff on Pinterest- very cute!!!
