16 weeks- Anyone else have a placenta lying low close to cervix?

Had my 16 week OB visit, and told him I was having some light brown spotting yest & today....Heard HB, baby sounded great and the bonus was I got to have another sono Chat Icon to see my little sprout again ! ..Anyway, the tech said that my placenta is lying a bit low to my cervix and that is what is most likely causing my spotting- Doc isnt real concerened and said that usually it will work its way up as my uterus expands...Anyone else have this ?....Everything I'm googling is bringing me to placenta previa, but the tech said there is no tear etc....just placenta is low ...Chat Icon

placenta previa is when the placenta is completely covering the cervix- i had this early in my pregnancy, then it moved a bit and it was a "low-lying placenta" most of the time they move... if they don't then you might need a c-section... in more serious cases, some women get put on bed rest...

I had a low lying placenta at 14 weeks ant 16 weeks it turned into a partial prevea and by 19 weeks it moved away considering that you are still early it has the potential to correct itself as did mine I think that if it doesn't by 28 weeks they talk Csection hang in there and dont get too freaked out I know that it is scarey and I will tell you I had alot of bleeding borderline hemorage but things turned out OK as far as that good luck and hang in there I am sure it will move up soon

I am almost 21 weeks and have a low lying placenta. I was at the OB today and he felt pretty confident that it would move since it was still early. He thought it might move by my next appointment. We will see!
