Low Lying Placenta ?

I understand it's very common but my dr. told me it was fine to have sex even though I had this. My girlfriend at work also had it and was told to refrain and I just read in Your pregnancy week by week to refrain if you have this.

Any other experiences are welcomed:)

My friend has it and she was told to abstain for the entire pregnancy

I guess it depends on how low the placenta is. I personally would refrain you don't want to cause any bleeding it could be dangerous.

IN my first pregnancy I had a low lying placenta and had no restrictions at all.

Maybe she has more of placenta previa, where part of the placenta is over the cervix? tHat could be more of a reason why.

I had this- one DR in the practice put me on "pelvic rest"- and told me no sex...

while another DR told me it was ok- just nothing to crazy

I think it has a alot to do with how relaxed your DR is.

I choose to refrain from- just to make sure (well maybe I cheated once or twice - but that was it)


They'll do another sono @ 32 weeks to make sure your placenta has moved to the right place...I *think* if it dosent- you'll need a c-sect....

I had a low lying placenta and partial placenta previa and I was not allowed to have sex for the entire pregnancy.
