0-3 months vs 3 months clothes
Quick question for you girls...
DS is about to outgrow all his newborn outfits. Is 0-3 months clothes smaller than 3 months clothes or are they the same? I'm seeing that the Carter's outfits just say 3 months. Is that really considered 0-3 months?

0-3 and 3 months are the same.. I found it easier initially to go by the weights list on the tags.

3 month size clothes mean 3 mos. would be the youngest end of it. So 3 month= 3-6 months, 6 month= 6-9, etc. Wouldn't it be nice if all brands did sizing the same way??

Yeah, I always took it the opposite. 3 months being the same as 0-3 months so they "should" fit into it up until 3 months.

They seem to be the same size to me. It really depends on the brand. For the most part DS' 0-3 and 3 mo. all look to be the same.

Yes, 0-3 is same as 3 months... 3 months is the latest that these clothes will fit up until on an average baby... My dd is still wearing 6 months at almost 8 months old LOL

Agreed... Weights are a much better indicator... Some brands vary drastically in sizes!

it depends on the brand. in carters 3m means 0-3 which always confused me since many other brands 3m means 3-6. many of the tags have height/weight on it which i found more helpful than the months since my DD was a preemie and always months smaller than the label (for example, she's 20m and she still wears 12m and 12-18m).

3 months clothes is up to 3 months at carter's
Are you saying that other brands do it differently?
I mainly have carter's stuff.
Either way if you look qt the tags they usually have the weight...

I find Carter's to run slightly bigger than some other brands. My kids are small anyway so Carters tends to be the last brand they outgrow for each size. If you look at the sizing though, the Carter's 3 months is the same as other brands' 0-3 months (8-12 lbs). The 6 months clothes are the same as 3-6 months (12-16 lbs), etc.

I've never noticed that but DD wears mostly carters. Which brands run the other way?
DD is on the smaller side and has often been able to wear clothes past the stated time. She wore 6 months in Carters until she was 7+months. She's 8 months now and wearing 9 month Carters stuff but is just starting to fit into Gap/ON/Gymobree outfits that are 6-12 months. I figured they run a bit smaller since the start at 6 months.

If it helps, DD is 3 months, has pretty much outgrown all of her 3 months clothes, and is into 6 months. Most of her clothes are Carters.

In my experience, 0-3 months is the same as 3 months, and 3-6 months is the equivalent of 6 months, based on the sizes listed on the tags. Carters 3 months is something like 7.5-12 lbs, and their 6 months is 12.5-17 lbs. DD is going to be 7 months tomorrow, and is still wearing Carter's 6 months, but is towards the end of it.
I did find that certain brands in 3-6 months fit DD sooner than others, and there are some that are 6 months that still don't fit, even though the tags say that they should.

But i def didn't put 3 mo clothes on my kids until they turned 3 mo...and 6 mo clothes until they turned 6 mo old...etc
i mostly use carters so i assumed they were always true to size

DS is almost 3 months and has been wearing 3 months (Carter's), 0-3 and 3-6 in other brands. I guess it all depends on the brand since sizing is different in all brands.
