I am pulling the post as the person quoted was insulted.....Sorry you were insulted but as a formula feeding mom I was really offended. You are welcome on this board as all parents are at any time........

Re: Formula comments
I think majority of moms want to breastfeed just like myself and give what we think is best. At the same token we also want our children to be happy and healthy and with all the cases of reflux and babies born prematurely alot of the times formula is a better choice. No one knows what the future holds until you are in that moment. I never thought I would formula feed but having a breast infection, breastfeeding and pumping just to give my son food was getting to me and a unhappy mommy =unhappy baby.

Re: Formula comments
I had all intentions on breastfeeding my daughter. It was something I felt STRONGLY about. My mom was a LLL Leader for 25 years and it's just a big deal in our family.
But I you can't plan something out like that perfectly. Everyone's situation is different. I ended up not being able to breastfeed, and pumping was exhausting and was taking a toll on me -- and people say -- Happy Mom - Happy Baby and well I just wasn't happy. So I gave up pumping after a month and a half and switched over to formula.
It really is a personal decision and it really does depend on each person's persona circumstances. It really is something that you can't say until you've been there, done that. For some it is a piece of cake, for others it is such a hard thing ---- and everyone just needs to do what is best for themselves and their baby.

Re: Formula comments
The old worn out BF vs FF controversy I agree that whaever anyone does is their choice blahblahblah but I think actual verbage is what I find rude. Hello!! You know people on this board FF, why would you phrase it like that...its going to offend some people. That's the part that's not cool. And I also agree, its very easy to say what you will do before the fact. LMAO! I suppose if I were the type who posted my every thought, I could do a search and cringe at some of the things I've claimed as well.

Re: Formula comments
WHOA!!! I just saw that you pulled my thoughts from another board and posted them here to start an issue and I find that incredibly RUDE!!!! I only posted my personal thoughts in response to what my feeding plans were -- not in as a response to what other people are doing.
I also posted that everyone has to make their own decision based on what's right for them and their baby. Please do not pull my posts from another board to start a controversy.

Re: Formula comments
I don't think it's right to post her opinions like this on the Parenting board. If she sees this, she's definitely not going to feel welcome on this board. And, besides, so what if she feels like it's a concotion? Quite frankly, it is (and YES, I used formula). Someone's feelings/opinions on why she doesn't personally want to use formula shouldn't be taken out of context like this. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on what is best, and shouldn't be blasted for it, nor should anyone take it personally.

Just want to reiterate that I DID NOT post this on this board, someone chose to do that for me.
My post was in response to a discussion on the Pregnancy Board about what our feeding plans are. I emphasize PLANS. We all have ideals about what we do and don't want for our children and we all just have to roll with it when the babies are born. I just want to say again, I would never post that on this board b/c I know there are many people on this board who formula feed out of choice and neccesity -- it's their business, they're not asking for my opinion. This was in response to pre-baby plans, not reality. Some other girls were posting about how breast-feeding seemed strange and not right for them. I was posting how I felt about formula -- simple post that cause no controversy on the Pregnancy board where it belonged.

Hmmmnnn...I see your point. I personally didnt read the pregnancy board thread before or after seeing this excerpt here so I really have to right to get involved. I never get involved in controversy posts....this is a reminder of why I dont. Good luck to you with it.

Re: Formula comments
While I'm not too keen on the way it was worded, I think it was a bit unneccessary to bring it over here.

I completely agree with everything Beth said and as a mom who had to use formula I felt the same way about it being a "concoction" but I wasn't offended by what she said at all. That's exactly what it is. A formula they come up with that tries to mimic breastmilk.
