 honestly I can not get over these MIL's lately!  Initially, I would want to punch her in the face, but would probably take the higher road and just have nothing to do with her

I wouldn't yell (because that would defeat the purpose of not touching the baby). Maybe throw something out her quietly?
In all seriousness, I can't imagine that ever happening. If it did, I would ask her to step into the next room for a conversation. That conversation would probably start out with "Don't you ever..." and end with "I am the mother of this child. If you want to be in his/her life..."

OMG! What a piece of work!
I would have my DH sit down with his mother and tell her how inappropriate that is. DH would also tell her that HELLO he is married and this is HIS family and she has no rights to wake up HIS baby.
Also, I would tell her that her actions bought her one month of no contact with her granddaughter and if she bad mouthed me, or did something like that again I would add another month. Kinda like "grounding" a 6yr old. If she is going to act like a child, treat her like one.
