I started to the first month we started TTC. I honestly just didn't think to take them sooner or I would have. I only take OTC prenatal vitamins, my doctor said those would be fine.

I've been taking them since August (we started in July)
No harm in taking them - they are full of things you need anyway! 
For me, it was nice to have a routine down with taking them. I'm scatterbrained to begin with, so I can imagine how much worse it will be once i do get pregnant. Does that make sense?

You should start taking either a prenatal vitamin or a multivitamin with at least 400 mcg of folic acid at least 3 months before TTC. My doctor said I could take a regular multivitamin, but others take prenatals. Folic acid is important to take for several months before TTC in order to help prevent neural tube defects.

You should start prenatals now.
If you take a regular vitamin, make sure it's at least 400 mcg folic acid. Prenatals have 800+ mcg.

I started taking Target brand last summer (Summer 07). We started TTC in June...in March my doc gave me a prescription for PRima Care One...they have given me no problems. GL.

I started taking prenatal vitamins 6 months prior to TTC. When I actually got pregnant, I was so nauseous that I couldn't take them anymore. I now take gummy bear children's vitamins.

my dr prescribed primacare 1 but its $70 dont want to pay it.

my OB said it's fine that I started now but that I didn't HAVE to start any sooner and that I'd take the same ones while pregnant.

I take Pre Natals, but a CVS brand plus a folic acid supplement.
When I was pg, I took the prescription ones. I still have a two month supply b/c of my m/c, so after my BFP, I'll use the expensive ones again.

I started taking One A Day brand when we first started TTC. But, they wreaked havoc on my stomach, so I am now taking a multi-vitamin and folic acid.
