Thanks, guys, for your good thoughts & hugs. I feel like the worst wife in the world right now, but a couple of hours after he left for the party, I had a couple of glasses of wine....I probably *could* drive, but don't want to risk it, otherwise, I'd go get him. I generally won't drive after a drink. I wish I'd held off...

I wish there was something to say to make this better. I am so sorry to hear about your FIL's tumor. My heart hurts for your DH and what he went through tonight.
You should not feel bad about not picking him up - it's responsible to not get behind the wheel if you have had some drinks. And, from your post it's obvious that you will be there for your DH tonight. Good luck with all of it... I'll keep you in my prayers.
