Re: Girls, I am freaking out
How far along do you think you are ? I think you're fine - you don't share a bloodstream with the baby in the very beginning.
Congrats!!

Re: Girls, I am freaking out
I agree that you should't worry too much. It is too early to make a difference. Did you have a drink or two or get rip roaring drunk every weekend? I think a glass of wine is okay and some people even say it is okay to half a glass when you are preggers.
congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Girls, I am freaking out
Honestly, don't worry about it. a) you don't share a bloodstream that early and b) you can't go back so there is no sense stressing over it
Many women have gotten wasted early on in their pregnancy b/c they didn't know they were and their babies are just fine. Just take care of yourself going forward

Re: Girls, I am freaking out
That's probably because the hormone HcG was more concentrated the first time you tested. It doesn't matter if the line was fainter - a line is a line!

I have one test left, when should I test again?
You don't really need to - but if you want to, I would use FMU (first morning urine).

Re: Girls, I am freaking out
First off, congrats! Second...my mom "craved" Schlits beer with me when she was pregnant with me and I turned out fine. I would not worry so much about the drinking as long as you stop now. Good luck!!!

Re: Girls, I am freaking out
congratulations and i agree with what others have said, i wouldn't worry about what you've already done, just concentrate on from this day on and discuss it with your doctor, they are the best to help you

Re: Girls, I am freaking out
congratulations
don't freak out..... is it fine to drink alcohol? Nope....
HOWEVER, think about how many MILLIONS of babies were born to:
1) moms who didn't realize they were pregnant until they began to show
2) smokers
3) women addicted to coffee/tea
4) women prior to about the 1960's when they FINALLY told expectant moms they shouldn't drink
most of the kids were fine. Also, many moms don't realize they're pregnant until at least 3-6 weeks.... so it's normal to have that period of time at the very beginning where it was still business as usual...
If you stop drinking now, and also avoid caffeine, and fake food (no micky d's, no food additives, no empty calories), your baby will be amazingly healthy.
I feel I must once again, re-iterate my prior posting (about the robitussin).... it simply isn't true that you share nothing with the fetus in the first trimester.... the baby is inside of you, and dependent upon you for everything. Immediately upon implantation, most drugs (along with nutrients) pass to the embryo, and waste passes back to the mom. The first trimester is BY FAR the most dynamic... meaning the baby is growing at a ROCKETS PACE and is very sensitive to everything.
Please moms-to-be, be vigilant FROM DAY ONE of trying to conceive.... Take no vitamin / medication until you get the thumbs up from your gynocologist or obstetrician for that particular item...
But also temper this info with reality, that most moms have slip-ups here and there, and it's of no consequence... the babies are healthy as can be.... so there's no need to panic about a couple drinks....
