A woman I know threw the school is a TA for Disney and she posted how disappointed she was to see how many friends are posting pics on FB of their trip their, but didn't use her.
I'm like...seriously?!

Not really a Facebook group but there is a Facebook news page for our town. It’s always the same shit and people complaining. Town decides to build apartments? They complain about parking. Town decides to tear down decrepit eyesore and build a park? They complain about costs to maintain it and they lack of safety in the area. And I am sick of hearing about how there are too many “illegals.” We are doomed as a society...

Not so much complaining, but the same people giving their 2 cents with outdated information.
Original poster: Does anyone know if the guidance department will help with a financial aid form?
The same random people: when my son was at the HS they would not help at all. (Son is now 40 years old)

YUP same thing happens on our page. Sometimes some of the threads go 150 comments long and the real drama breaks out. Around July 4th people loveeee to complain about the fireworks. People get slammed for asking normal questions, while others debate what the best pizza and chinese food are over and over again...
Then there is "why a helicopter is out?". "Did you lose power?"
I think many of the people who go in and post meme's and other stuff that doesnt relate are just trolling because they know someone will bite and start an argument.
I really cant stand when someone slams a small business. Dont we have enough empty store front on LI???? Same story different day. Once in a while you get a good review on something or tip. But im gonna be honest -- i mostly follow for the drama lol!!
Edited to add: Another complaint that always gets me is "how the neighborhood has changed" from all the older generation or those who no longer even live here anymore!!! Of course it has changed, doesnt everything. The min we hear about cars being rifled through for loose change, or a kid riding their bike in the middle of the street, or someone tagging up the mailbox with graffiti they go off to the races. I feel like saying THIS IS EVERY SINGLE NEIGHBORHOOD. RELAX!
I know this is an older post.. but i was just reading it and started laughing. You have no idea how accurate this is, and how much better its making me feel about my town. I was starting to get really dejected about the same people complaining over and over again, thinking wtf is wrong with this town.. why can't anyone be happy, why is everyone miserable? Who cares if there are helicopters flying overhead? Who cares if you lived here 30 years ago and things were 'better' then. Lets talk about NOW and how to make improvements.
And now i see that it happens everywhere! its not just my town, its every town!
and to add to it.. its the SAME people that post and complain about everything, all the time. No new ideas, just recycling the same old same old, and when someone does bring up a new idea, its immediately shot down as no good. But then everyone complains that nothing will ever change..

Did you all need to answer questions from the admin to join the group? - In my town page, she would direct message you a list of questions, review your answers and then approve you or delete you.
Once you get in the women are sooooo insane. They pick fights over everything- someone is always offended. But when something happens my husband will say "Well what does (town name) Moms say"?? lol

The mom page for my town is so twisted and honestly disgusting at times - I had to leave the group. And no , I didn’t make an announcement I was leaving like so many do lol. I was only in there because that’s as the only one available other than patch. Now The new regular town page is somewhat better but still the same complaints by the same people all the time , just not as nasty

We have a lot of people asking the same questions.
Yesterday there were three threads related to an 8 minute power outage. And three related to whether there would be a school delay. At least look through before you post to see if you are asking the same question!!!
