The heavy rain Sunday morning could wash away all the snow from Saturday night. Need to watch coastal and street flooding Sunday morning.. This is Mostly a rain event for Long Island
I hope to God that is the case!
And then turn into several inches of ICE. Going to be single digits Sunday into Monday. Bitter cold for several days too.

yeah i know it sucks. So dangerous.
Nothing good comes from snow or ice- just accidents.
I have a 25 mile commute and I saw 4 accidents. I was doing 60MPH and people were on my bumper!
I can't wait to go home and hibernate this weekend.

damn! I didn't go out this morning. I'm working home today. I didn't realize it was that bad on the roads- i saw the snow on the ground but that it wasn't bad.
that sucks!
I loved the snow when I was a kid. Now I am just afraid of it. I hate driving in it. I hate the other people driving around me. lol I should have worked from home today but I took Wednesday and I didn't want to be out again.

Yes but the freeze isn't supposed to happen until later on Sunday. Morning is all rain.
The later flights should be the concern.

The concern is really just the NE in general. They do not want planes to get stuck here. My uncle was a high up person at United Airlines and had to make decisions like this all the time. I remember one Christmas, he literally was on the phone the entire night discussing what to do about flights because a big storm was coming in. They do not cancel flights for no reason.

They should absolutely be cancelling flights later on Sunday then. When the temp drops and everything freezes. Kind of strange they haven't. That's when it will be more of an issue.

Well keep us in your thoughts that we get to go tomorrow. Wre are so upset our vacation is already cut short a day. Hopefully the ice isn’t an issue! Or else I guess we have to cancel the whole thing. Sucks so much. We could have def flown. It was only JetBlue. All other airlines had no cancellations.

That's what I don't get. Today would probably have been better to fly than tomorrow.
Makes no sense. How can they go by forecasts when they have been consistently wrong?
I'm sorry. I can't imagine how pissed i would be.
