Phone interview question
I applied for a job in April and they called me last Tuesday to see if I was still interested and that I’d hear about a phone interview for late next week.
1) The assistant still hasn’t called to set up the interview. I was going to write the hiring manager on Fri to let him know I’m still interested and I look forward to hearing from his asst to setup the call. Is that pushy?
2) the job was listed for 6 weeks (mid-April thru May 31). They called me June 12 for the phone interview and then that afternoon they listed the position again. Is that a bad sign? I’m hoping that means I don’t have much competition and it’s a great fit so I can get out of my toxic environment ASAP!

Phone interview question
I would definitely follow up about setting up a phone interview. Showing that you are interested cannot hurt. The fact that they reposted the job shows that they may not feel the have received applications that they feel are the best fit for the job. It is always hard to tell with these things.

Re: Phone interview question
What probably happened was they took the listing down because they found someone but that person fell through- either they never showed on their first day, showed but never came back, quit, got fired, any number of things.
So they reached back out to other applicants they had on file (you being one of them) and also relisted the job online.
Definitely follow up by Friday if you don't hear back about the phone interview.
Good luck!

Phone interview question
I would say something like “I wanted to follow up in regards to scheduling the phone interview. I am very interested in the position and hope we can find time to connect soon.”

Phone interview question
I heard back - the assistant was in training for a few days and they're behind in scheduling and I should hear back soon. Should I follow up with a thank you for letting me know or is that bothering him?

Phone interview question
Another phone interview question. The previous one didn't go well and I didn't get the job, but I had another last week that I'm really interested in. I sent an email after the interview and the hiring manager replied that she was glad to hear that I'm still interested and will follow up in 1-2 weeks. It'll be a week tomorrow. Is it pushy if I email on Friday to ask if she needs anymore information from me or should I wait until the 2 week mark?
(I'm a little antsy b/c I REALLY have to get out of my current job!!!)

You should wait at least 2 weeks. I’d honestly probably give 3. You will look pushy if you follow up in less than 2 weeks.

Re: Phone interview question
I think it's perfectly ok to check in and show you're interested as long as you don't do so too often. Wait a week and then send a quick touch base.

Phone interview question
It's 2 weeks today. What's a polite way to word a follow up? They seemed interested in me so I'm hoping it's just that they got busy with something else, but they said they needed someone to start asap since classes start in a month.
