Re: Flu shots
I read that if you get the shot it should help with the symptoms and I think I believe that. Last year DD got the flu she had the shot. She had a fever the next day I took her in to the DR the fever was basically gone and she basically felt fine. He tested her for the flu and she was positive.
I also read that when you get the shot you body builds immunity to it so even if the shot didn't protect you from this strain it could protect you from future ones. Not sure how true this is though.

I know this may not be a popular reply but please clean your houses using Lysol and/or bleach.
Everyone is using all natural this or that - and yea, I get it. There are harmful chemicals in the products I mentioned but when it comes to this time of year, you need to use them. Wait until your kids are sleeping and pets are away. Just go around and wipe every light switch, doorknob, refrigerater handle, phones, tablets... anything that is touched and over looked for germs. It’s helps keep the germs from spreading through the house.
And like PP said - up your vitamin D. Definitely helps with your immunity.

Also - if you have the flu- STAY HOME! Work will get by without you. And if your kids have the flu - keep them home!!!
I got the flu a few years ago (after getting the shot) because a bunch of flu stricken people continued to come to work... Even though I didn't interact with them directly - I learned, after getting the flu, that about 5 people on my floor had it.
AMEN!!!!! My job gives an extremely generous amount of sick time. Wouldn’t you know a department secretary shows up with the flu today.... what the hell people?! I can’t get sick!! My kids have been hospitalized twice for RSV since September I cannot have anymore illnesses!
