I do a mix of full size chocolate bars, skittles and starbursts. Then I have my teal bowl filled with emoji and football bouncy balls, and mini bubbles. I also have a toddler bowl filled with play dough, stickers and pirates booty.
We throw a Halloween party so i always need a ton of options. We are making glitter slime at the party, and I thought about giving extras out, but I’m afraid it will be a big mess and make parents hate me

We just get a big bag of candy from Costco. The mix includes snickers, m&ms, peanut m&ms, kit kats, york perppermints, 100 grand, reeses, twix, and milky way.

A mix of everything- all kinds of chocolate (snickers, PB cups, kit kats, hershey's, almond joy, milky way, m&ms, york peppermint patties, etc.), fruity candies (skittles, starburst, laffy taffy, nerds, lollipops), and goldfish. We had one kid last year who was so sad because he didn't like candy (On Halloween... I know), so I ran back inside and got some of the baby's goldfish to go packs and got them for him.

I get home from work late and by that time of evening, I'm not running downstairs every time my doorbell rings.
I don't want candy in my house.

I will be going to target today to buy some "practice" halloween candy- this is candy that I will eat before Halloween - I will buy what I like, try and convince myself I will not eat it and then I will have candy wrappers hidden in the laundry room...

Nice! We're going to your house! LOL
We give out the big mix bag from Costco. We get A LOT of kids, but noone is home bc we're all out so I leave a bowl out. Surprisigly kids are pretty good. Sure they may not take 1, but they don't take a huge handful. I think bs the parents are here with them and supervise.

What are you giving out for Halloween?
I usually give out packages of Lindens chocolate chip cookies. Kids seem to like it because it's different. I also get a bag of mixed candy to put out when we go out.

Probably nothing. I take DS out and we leave a bowl on the porch but when we get home it has not been touched. I think last year I had 1 Trick or treater the whole day.

Yes same for us. We still buy a bag of candy but I usually end up taking the whole thing to work. We leave a bowl out and don't get many trick or treaters.

just moved to a new area.. DH asked our neighbor if kids trick or treat here and he said no because the houses are too spread out so they have a neighborhood pizza party. laaaaaaaame
so im still going to get a bag of candy just in case but I will be making a halloween package for each of the neighbors kids ( 3 ). ill go to party city and get pails, erasers, pencils, stickers, candy etc

Right!?? They had a fall even on Sunday. Dh and I were creepers and we drove by to check it out. It wasn't huuuuge but a good amount of ppl. It's pot luck and they had face painting and who knows what else. So I'm sure Halloween might be similar. There's also a neighborhood race thanksgiving day.

I found Halloween mini Rice Krispy Treats in Aldi's in a huge box of 80, so I got some of those and will likely get some candy or cookies.

What are you giving out for Halloween?
We always get a ton of kids in our neighborhood, and I love Halloween lol. I get a bunch of different candy - chocolates, skittles, starburst, blow pops and tootsie pops. I also usually have individual bags of Pirate Booty (because whatever doesn't go can go in my son's lunch box lol) and some pencils and stickers. I try to make sure I have a wide selection so everyone and anyone can find something. I also always have a ton of those glow stick necklaces and bracelets. I buy a sh!t ton of them at the dollar store. I give some of those to EVERYONE that comes up. It gets so dark in our neighborhood, and people don't drive sane anymore. The kids love them, and it helps to light them up a bit while they are out ToTing.
Usually we just eat the leftover candy (eek!) but this year, my daughter wants to see about donating it to soldiers overseas. She said she heard about a program that does this. So, I will be looking in to that.
One of my neighbors is a dentist and he gives out toothbrushes and those little toothpaste samples along with his candy lol!

Nothing. We're out all night ToT ourselves so there is no one home to give out candy. We've left the bowl out before and that was a disaster, so we stopped doing that.
When we first moved in the neighborhood there wasn't many kids and I was stuck with all the candy... I then proceeded to eat all the candy. Another reason why I won't buy any.
ETA: We used to give out chocolate, but I've noticed when my son goes ToT he goes crazy over CHIPS! When people are handing out bags of chips they're his favorite house.

YES - we donate every year. Our dentist used to do that, but no longer does - we found another one in our neighborhood that does so we started going to her. She pays $1/lb. and gives a toothbrush and some other things.
