On the kitchen counter near my things that I need to take in the morning so I don't forget it. We have an old school alarm clock. I like waking up to music

However, I only found these two stories, spanning several years. There are millions of phones, and many of them are used in beds and under pillows.
You can definitely see why it would overheat, though. Phones get warm when charging in an open environment. Under a pillow, the heat has nowhere to go. Even if it doesn't start a fire, excess heat will shorten the life of the phone and the battery.

On my nightstand charging set to silent. If someone needs me they can call the landline which is on DH's nightstand. Neither one of us uses our phones as our alarm.

On my nightstand and charging. I leave DND on. I have to leave DND on or I'll be woken bc of messages I get through the night bc of the time difference. I use it as my alarm clock.

In my work bag. I try to really limit electronics once I'm home so I'm not distracted whe interacting with my girls. Keeping it in my bag is the easiest way to not be tempted. We have a landline.

On my nightstand or sometimes I just look at my phone and put it down in bed, so I wake up and it's somewhere under the covers. I need to answer the phone if the alarms go off at work in the middle of the night and central station calls.

Mine gets so hot when charging, just on a table. I can't imagine yours. Yikes! Be careful.

On my nightstand. I use it as am alarm clock. I have my settings set to do not disturb between 9:30-5:30 so no alerts come though.
Same. I had no clue I could do this in settings and changed it last night.

Where do you keep your cell phone overnight?
We both keep our phones on the shelf over our bed. Our landline is downstairs and I don't have an extension for it upstairs, which I'm fine with. We don't use it as an alarm clock as we have a traditional one for that. Notifications don't wake us up though. Many times by brother will message me at like 3am when he's on the overnight shift and I never, ever hear it.
