Red Light Ticket
I got a citation that I went through a red light. It was a legal right on red, there is no sign stating otherwise. Can I contest this ticket? Has anyone done this before?
The light is on the corner of Commack Rd, turning east onto Grand Blvd in Deer Park.

Red Light Ticket
I got a ticket for not making a complete stop before making a right on red at Jericho and townline (commack rd).
Did you not make a complete stop? There's really no fighting that.

Contesting is unfortunately pointless but you can try. You need to come to a complete and total stop then make the turn. Dh got a ticket at that spot last year and we watched the video. He paused but did not make a complete and total stop.

I agree with everyone else... pay it and be done. I now either count for like 5 secs anytime I'm at a cam with a light or I don't turn at all... not worth it

I just got my second for not coming to a complete stop.  First time I literally coasted through. Second time I definitely stopped, but apparently not long enough. Now I never turn right on red at a red light camera. I don't care who is honking behind me, I sit and wait for the green.

I got one recently and it was a legal right but I did not stop for 3-5 seconds lol they timed it too. So annoying and I had to pay $200 bc I forgot to pay immediately and they put on a HUGE late fee.

I've read you need to be stopped for at least 6 seconds. I rarely go through them anymore.

You're screwed, they'll say you did not stop for long enough and you will not be able to prove otherwise.
I don't make rights at red light camera intersection anymore because of this.
