Florida keys wheres the best place to stay?
Toying with the idea of a trip to the florida keys this year. Have never been so don't know where the best place to stay is. It will be DH, myself and our 3 kids, 7, 5, and 2.
Anyone been and can recommend somewhere family friendly but also very nice.

Florida keys wheres the best place to stay?
Just booked Hawks Cay for next week. It's supposed to be a wonderful resort for families. They also have dolphins on site.

DH & I went to Islamorada in May and stayed at Cheeca Lodge. It was great. The resort is clean, beautiful and the people are so nice.
We LOVED it. the food is alittle expensive but right outside the resort are great places for lunch and breakfast.
It's about 1 1/2 hrs from Miami and 1 1/2 from Key West so we drove down there one day and walked around.

where do you fly into if you are going to the florida keys???
Miami ideally or Ft Lauderdale if you want to fly out of Islip

If you go all the way to key west I'd fly. I have driven from both Miami and FLL and it's not fun.

I agree, everyone talked about how nice the drive was but DH and I are too impatient.
There is actually a ferry from Ft Meyers that we might try next time.

If your still looking I wouldn't hesitate to books Hawks Cay, halfway down the keys located in duck key. We just got back and it was excellent. Really loved the lagoon, pools, restaurants and just the entire place. It's perfect for families with games and activities by the pool everyday. There's even an adult area with a pool. We had a 2 bedroom villa with a beautiful patio area and small plunge pool. Highly recommend.
