Mosquito Yard Spray?

Has anyone had their property sprayed for mosquitos by one of these companies I see advertising all the time now? In my neighborhood, I'm seeing a lot of yard signs for Mosquito Joe. DD and I are mosquito magnets and have horrible allergic reactions. Now that she's 2, we spend a lot more time out in the yard -- playing with bubbles, her playhouse, chalk, etc. Wondering if its work it to spend the money and if it actually works! Thanks!

P.S. I have a dog and would need something that was pet safe.

Re: Mosquito Yard Spray?

I haven't but my issue with these yard spraying services is- yeah it will kill any mosquitoes and nests in your yard currently.

But mosquitoes fly.

So within days you'll have mosquitoes flying in from somewhere else

I really don't see how it's effective.

My neighbor used Mosquito Joe. It works for a little while, but not really worth it in the end. You still get bit.

Go on Amazon and buy a bat house! It's like $25 and awesome! My friend lives out east and he has a bat house and there are 2-3 bats in there. They fly around at dusk and eat all Mosquitos. I didn't get bit once last year!!! This will be my first purchase when I get a home

We just used Mosquito Squad. They do 7 treatments every 3 weeks. So far we have had only one treatment last weekend and the weather hasn't been so nice so we haven't been outside. Let's see how it is over the weekend! We also purchased 2 dynatrap bug zappers for outside.

Mosquito Squad has very good reviews btw, I'm hoping it was worth it!

We used an organic spray company. After one treatment there is a significant difference . I couldn't even go outside the bugs were so bad. Supposedly it's a bad tick season, too.. and they spray for like 200 bugs.

Re: Mosquito Yard Spray?

And then this morning I read this....

Bats test positive for rabies on Long Island

Anddddd this is why I'd rather deal with the mosquitos than attract rabid flying rodents to my yard!
