Size 6 vs. 6X?
What's the deal with this?
Why is there a 6x in between 6 and 7?
And why not a 5x or a 4x or a 7x?
I was just in Kohl's and bought a few of the Jumping Bean brand t shirts for my DD on sale. The 6's looked a drop small so I grabbed a 7, then I saw they had 6x as well
6x seemed perfect (right in between the 6 and the 7) but it got me thinking- why did they do this?
Like what is the point of a 6x? It's like a half size but only for between 6 and 7.
Very strange.
Anyone know?

I found this interesting article.
I also recently realized that Kohls has a 7x in Jumping Beans for boys - which makes me happy so I have some more time using their pants and shorts!

This makes sense a bit more now.
She definitely needs larger tops than pants. Her waist is still tiny but she needs the length in the tops so this makes even more sense

I found 6x to be super wide. Dd is 70% for height and 65% for weight. She just wore 6 then 7.

I think 6x is a little wider than a 6, but not as long as a 7. I guess these girls tend to pack on some extra pounds in first grade ;)

Size 6 vs. 6X?
I always thought the X meant its wider. I didn't realize it wasn't in the other sizes. That is strange. My dd is a tall stringbean, so 6x tends to look like a tent on her. She's only 4 and just about ready for size 7 already bc she's so tall.

I felt like the sizes were fine up until 8. There was a 6, 6X, 7/8 and then it jumps to 10/12. Shouldn't it be 9/10 and then 11/12, etc., just like in adult sizes? My DD was too big for the 7/8, but too short for the 10/12 for the longest time! She seems to have grown into the 10/12, but she looked ridiculous for quite a while!

This has been a huge problem for us. My DD totally out grew size 7/8, but size 10/12 is HUGE on her. She has hardly any clothes that fit her. She needs an inbetween size like a 9.
