Kids shoveling snow for $?

Is this a Queens thing? I would gladly pay some teenager to shovel my sidewalk and driveway but it doesn't seem to be the norm around here. What's the deal?

There's a kid and his friend by us who does it. He also does raking in the fall.

Not many kids do this anymore. We used to do it as kids. Mainly for the old people. Some would give us $1 lol
We were happy with it. And it was fun

Check your local neighborhood FB page. That's where this kids dad posts his availability.

Kids don't do it by us either. I remember it when I was younger - neighborhood kids would shovel for $. In the summer, they'd mow lawns.

Kids in my neighborhood do it...not a ton, but it has happened.

We have some kids around us do it. They put their number on the local Mom's Facebook page. We have more men though come around and offer though. We just had 2 men come and do ours.

I see some kids and college kids doing this the prob is they come by late in the day after I already shoveled

No one in my town does it but in my immediate area it's either original owners or very young families like us either having kids or have kids under 5.

I wish. I think my parents back in the day paid a teenage everytime. Dh paid our neighbor last year when he blew his knee.

We used to have kids and immigrant men come around shoveling snow in our old neighborhood. We had a straight very short, flat driveway, and I was shocked at how much people would try to charge us. Sometimes 80-100 dollars!

My son and 2 friends were out for about 6 hours today and made $100 each. We're in West Babylon and normally there are groups of kids each major storm
