But this is how we're taking our news now, apparently. If it doesn't totally support what we already believe we won't even read it.

No, I think when articles are posted in Huff Po, NYT or stories are put out on CNN and time and time again are exposed for half truths and their spin, I think you get a little tired of continuing to read it. ( Which before I get flamed, I've watched and read over and over again to see their side. CNN on election night was particularly interesting to say the least , but I digress..)

I could also post links from Breitbart and comments from other people saying he isn't anti semetic or a racist , including Alan Dershowitz, but would you read those? I'm sorry, I don't believe even half of anything the NYT states anymore. This to me is a total reach. Just like, how interesting is it that now that the election is over, all of Gloria Allred's clients have suddenly stopped coming forward on a daily basis? So now that he's won, they will just bash all of his picks.

YES, I would and I do read from EVERYWHERE.

Because I will not limit the information I receive. Because I am not too arrogant to realize there is slant. Because I want to be informed, not just be 'right'. Becuase I will not be ignorant.

You discounted the entire article without even knowing whether the person you affirmatively state is a racist was basing her statement on known facts. You automatically assumed SHE is a racist, with ZERO factual basis for your statement.

I also wanted to get Trump supporters views so I now read the Breibart posts on FB. They are 100% one-sided as are the comments under each post.

You discounted the entire article without even knowing whether the person you affirmatively state is a racist was basing her statement on known facts. You automatically assumed SHE is a racist, with ZERO factual basis for your statement.

Yet, you seem to have little concern that a man who will have THE PRESIDENT's ear on a daily basis is making BLATANTLY STRAIGTHFORWARD RACIST STATEMENTS!

I don't care who you voted for or who you supported, you are coming across as someone who will defend something that is so wrong just for the sake of defending it - when there should be NO argument that Bannon's statement is disgusting!

I actually agree that being racist is wrong, period. I don't even need to bother to prove that because *I* never think to go to calling anyone by a hyphenated status to begin with.

But to say I defend him because I'm saying the speaker of this stupidity is a racist is a stretch. Especially after I made sure to say he was dirty in each of my two stand alone statements and actually in each statement thereafter.

#2 I never once said I am ok or agree with the statements he's made
#3 I can't speak to the words she implies because I already admit I didn't the article and explained why.

I'm not going to be baited into some petty argument that I am for Bannon or any one who is racist. Because that's crazy. I don't need to try to justify myself. Are we becoming so crazy that we have to start a McCarthy era witch hunt in reverse? Are you looking for racist in every corner? Do we have to start showing our allegiances to our beliefs (are you pro-choice, who did you vote for? are you a vegan, do you recycle, did you vote at all? for or against death penalty? for or against the wall?) and be classified into cute little categories that define who we are and therefore how we feel about every little thing?

I said I don't trust this woman based on what she said. I mean it.

I didn't even care who posted her story. NYT or the Enquirer. I stand by my opinion as is my AMERICAN right to do so. But that does NOT mean I'm just blasé about the entire damned government!

I'm so confused. Did everyone read the same article that I read? I thought it actually painted him in a pretty good light with the exception of one comment that I would not rely on, only because it's one person's word against another's.

I don't like him to referring to feminists as dykes from the seven sisters schools - I think that was completely inappropriate. But other than that I can't really find any direct publicly spoken quotes of his that make him anti-Semitic or racists.

And I have to be honest, some of the quotes (not in the case of bannon but in the case of a few others) were 20+ years ago. I'm sorry but a lot of people change their views in the course of 20 - 30 years time. Even my very right wing mother who used to be adamantly against gay marriage now supports it. I'm sure if you took a quote from her 10 years ago it would make her appear homophobic and anti-gay marriage. It doesn't mean people can't change.

After making a call to my congresswoman last week I just received a copy of a letter from 12 congress members addressed to DJT urging him to rescind the appointment of Bannon.

At this point I don't even need to see facts...
