Nassau schools bomb threat today....
There are bomb threats all the times....99.9 % of them are students trying to get out of school. I'm not in Nassau, but I would send my kids if I were.

My son heard the whole message on our answering machine that was left by our district and I think he is freaked out. I doubt it is anything but I have anxiety about this type of stuff. I am so happy today is parent teacher conference day so my kids don't have school. But now my son is worried because I will be at the school….

If someone really wanted to bomb schools- or anywhere for that matter- they wouldn't warn anyone.
I never understood bomb threats. The last thing a terrorist- or anyone who wants to set off a bomb - wants, is to alert people so they can stop it

Nassau schools bomb threat today....
I probably wouldn't have sent my son had I heard about this before I sent him. He's in a private nursery school but it's directly across from our elementary....so im thinking maybe they were not informed by NCPD. Ughh, such a sad, sick world.

I am in suffolk but I would have sent my kids in to school.
I personally surprised so many people wouldn't send their kids in. Especially since this supposed threat which they said is not even credible was for the whole entire nassau county do you know how many schools are in nassau. Its one thing if they named a specific school but even then who warns someone a bomb is going to off and then actually expect it to happen

It was said, from a non credible source, that bombs were placed in EVERY SINGLE school in Nassau county and would go off today.
Just think about the logistics of that though. Every single school.
There are TONS of schools in Nassau- elementary, middle, high school

This. I actually had a bomb planted and went off my senior year in HS. It was a student and no one knew until it actually went off. And this was back in 1991 so bomb threats are nothing new and there are probably way more than we actually hear about because they aren't credible.

Exactly and I highly doubt a bunch of kids have the means and the organization to plant bombs in every single school in the district.
They aren't exactly terrorist masterminds.
Most likely they want a day off and for the schools to close

The way it was conveyed by our district was not that it was a bomb threat called in but rather someone that reported either hearing about plans for this or being made aware of the potential for this. IMO this is an entirely different scenario. Perhaps the caller was just a hoax or perhaps he overheard wrong or only part of a potential plan. Do I think it's logistically possible to bomb all the schools - no, but given the above it's a little scary that the possibility exists that something was in the works. It was also never mentioned that this involved kids.
