Why do Suffolk schools announce delays before Nassau?
Just curious. My daughter goes to school in Suffolk but I teach in Nassau...I always find out way later if there is a delay/no school.

Why do Suffolk schools announce delays before Nassau?
Weather, conditions and roads can vary town to town, north to south and east to west. Every school has to make a decision based off the situation and the person in charge that is coordinating efforts with the town for cleanup, buses, etc...

A lot of times Suffolk gets hit harder by storms, especially on the north shore so they call it earlier.

i know so annoying. I'm in nassau, waiting for the nassau districts to start rolling in
