Does anyone really care...bday pty question..

I am having 27 kids to Nunleys carousel this sunday for my kids 1st and 3rd bday pty. They will be making a craft to take home, pizza cake blah blah. Do you think anyone will care if I don't do a favor? I just done want to sped another $100 on junk that gets tossed and I have to make the cake at home since my son has a peanut allergy and I can't do store cakes. I don't want to add a food favor since I have enough work. I am just trying to convince myself I am not a bad hostess for not having some really cool or unique favor lol...

I don't care. I would actually prefer no favor over junk I don't want my kids eating or little toys that are too small for siblings. Out of 27 kids, someone probably will care, but a lot won't.

My kids tend to be disappointed if no favors... I generally try to give something that is somewhat useful

ZERO problem with 'no favors' - You got invited to a party, you played with your friends outside of school and had a good time. The day is about your friend's birthday, not you .......you get your own day.

My kids can deal w/ a little disappointment.
Skip the favors.

I don't care about favors. I probably wouldn't even notice. Don't sweat it.

The craft they are taking home should be enough.

DD went to a party where they made bracelets and necklaces and decorated a jewelry box to put them in- that was the favor.

Then another was at Cupcake Girlz and her favor was the 4 cupcakes she decorated and got to bring home.
(I loved that )

I think the kids get excited for favors... so I would do something. We just had DS party. He likes transformers so I got plastic transformers cups on Amazon (figure kids can always use an extra cup) and just put a thing of animal crackers and a lollipop in them. Kids were happy, and it wasn't a ton of junk for the par bus to have to toss

Depends on your circle I guess. The parties we have gone to there is always some favor so the kids have come to expect it and we always give one. My DD would probably be disappointed but that being said she would get over it. If its going to stress you out then dont do it. However, Im a big fan of useable and low cost favors. You can go to any dollar store and pick up something- def dont have to spend $100 on 27 kids. You can get a coloring book, a book, a puzzle, a water bottle or a cute simple art and craft (they have a lot of holiday themed ones ) all for $1.00 and no assembly required! Heck you can even get christmas ornament .. like 6 for $1.00 and glitter glue each kids name on it. =)

I always feel like the kids look for the favor but I totally understand I was in the same debate with husband last month for my dd 4th bday...I had 25 kids and ended up doing $1 crafts from ac Moore...I felt it was good enough and didn't cost too much

IMO I do not like favors at all. I always wind up tossing them, no matter what.

We had a bday party at Nunleys too. The craft is definitely sufficient. But at the end of the party don't be surprised if a couple of kids get upset if there are no actual goody bags. Unfortunately they learn to expect it. I would definitely get something else.

DS had his party at Cradle of Aviation in October. The party was a craft (an airplane they decorated and put together), a scavenger hunt, and a toy at the end. I decided no extra gift bags, but I had 2 kids ask me at the end why no gift bag. We pointed out that they got the plane and the toy, then shuffled them along!

I don't thinks it's necessary but you could give cellophane snack bags with a candy assortment, m&ms, cookies, whatever and that would be pretty cheap and easy. There are tons of cheap options from the dollar store like packs of themed notepads and such.
