Re: My cat got out this morning UPDATE: Found!!!
Yayyyyy so happy he's back home and that he didn't go far! How did you guys eventually find him? How did the LL realize he was hiding back there? Did he come out on his own?
Omg cats really are nuts I can't believe he didn't even make a peep and went unnoticed lol but we needed the awesome news around here!!! That little guy needs a cow bell going forward lol.

He didn't come out. The LL came up and said I think your cat is behind our couch. I guess maybe he breathed or moved slightly and she heard it and checked? He has a smushed face, so sometimes he snores.
They were in disbelief that something like a cat was in their apartment and they didn't know. It's a family of two boys (6 and 15 or so?) and the parents. Someone is always in the apartment. It's completely crazy. I checked everywhere in the building, but I didn't check in their apartment because it's not my apartment.
The thing was the LL kept saying he is probably in the top apartment. The person who lives there comes home late and he was saying the cat must have slipped in with her. He never gave it a thought that it could have been in his apartment.
The funny thing is we got calls from people who saw him. They swore they had seen that exact cat in the pic, lol.
I was going to give them a nice bottle of wine and offer a cleaning service if needed. I think he peed himself, but he just sat in it. He was damp. Do you think that's enough?
Here's a pic of the little guy here. You can see that he's the same color as the floor, so I can sort of see how they missed him.

Aww what a cutie. And he is a big boy! It's amazing how they can get themselves in the tiniest spots and behind things. One time I couldn't find my cat, but I knew she couldn't have gotten out because we hadn't opened any doors or windows since the last time we saw her. I seareched forever. I was losing my mind. I looked under everything. Turns out she was underneath a desk- but under a section that was so low to the ground there was no way I thought she could be there. It was like a space of 3 inches from the bottom of the desk in that area to the floor. She was like pressed INTO the floor. Their bones are so flexible it's insane.

He's gorgeous! It's amazing the oddball places they are able to get themselves into lol. Like I said mine used to like to squirrel himself into the tiniest nook between the wall, floor, and claw tub and into empty boxes in the recycling bin.
I think wine and a cleaning service is very thoughtful! So glad your little smushball is home safe! I'm serious about the cowbell lol.
