is it wrong to want alone time with my baby????
dh and i havent had a weekend to ourselves since dd was born. I'm so sick of having to entertain both sides of the family every weekend!!!!!! We try to explain that we want a weekend alone as our family of 3, but everyone makes comments about how we have all week with her and make us feel bad. We both work and get about 3 hours with her before bedtime and that's not enough IMO...
not really looking for advice- just wanted to rant a little bit....

I would just tell them that we have plans and are busy (aka ALONE time) and that they can't come over. I am pretty direct when it comes to things, especially as I get older.

Re: is it wrong to want alone time with my baby????
We made a vow and have stuck to it that we only make plans one day out of the weekend. The other day we are "busy" no matter what just for us. We will also put a weekend here and there on the calendar where we make no plans. Otherwise we always end up overbooking and not have enough time for just us 4 and for chores.

Not at all! We usually set aside Sunday as "family day". Saturdays we will make plans or have people over, but Sunday is just for us.

You are not wrong. Tell them you have plans this weekend and can't have anyone over. People need to take a hint

THIS.
Remember you don't have to explain anything to anyone. And don't let anyone guilt you into anything. People including, our family especially parents, manipulate us to get what they want... I am clear about what I want with people. And its not rude nor insulting I just let people know either I'm available to do something or I'm busy.
You only get this time with your child as a baby once, don't worry about who gets upset because they cant see the baby for 1 weekend they will survive just fine.
