Has anyone used TrueCar to purchase a car?
We got quotes for a car from several dealers via TrueCar. One of the quotes is amazing and seems too good to be true. We haven't contacted the dealer yet. Has anyone had experience using TrueCar?

I used the info to negotiate a price. I didn't go through TRUECAR< but printed out what they said my car should cost. And the dealer honored it no questions asked.

Same here. The truecar dealer didn't have the car with the options we wanted, so we brought the quote somewhere else.

We did this too. Our dealership was horrible and words were exchanged, but I got the car for the price they advertised on TrueCar.

Yes. What I did was look at the dealerships inventory and got a true car quote for exactly what they had. No problems.

I did. You are getting a quote on the exact car (and VIN number) that you would buy. If you go to purchase that car, there's no negotiating. You get that car for that price, plus whatever taxes and fees are added on. They will not go lower.

I actually got a lower price but we did use to TrueCar to look at prices. My exDH looked under his name so when we went to purchase, we negotiated a little lower. The dealer said that if we wanted to purchase it at a price different than TrueCar, it would have to be under my name as the main email because TrueCar will check on sales and the dealers need to pay a certain % directly to them for the referral. (In our case, the dealer subtracted that % off of the TrueCar price since they wouldnt have to give it to TrueCar).
