if i want to purchase a car...do
i need to tell the salesperson if i will be financing or paying cash for it up front? i've heard that banks have better rates than dealership sometimes so we may borrow from the bank (making it a cash purchase).
we're planning to go to the dealership this weekend. i know they don't have the color i want in stock and will be either getting it from a dealership or ordering it directly. now, when i "order" the car, do i need to tell them how i will purchasing it? or when i actually sign the contract when the car come in?

I probably wouldn't say anything about what you want to pay. First find what you want, and decide what you want to pay for it. They try to trip you up w/financials right away.

you can sometimes search the inventory of dealers on cars.com. Is the color you want in driving distance? They would be more negotiable with price.
