Philly Where to stay what to do?
I'm planning a visit to Philly with my 13yo son in late Aug. Info please! Is 3 days 2 nights enough time?
Do we need a car? We are thinking about taking the train.
Best area/place to stay
Things to do besides the mint, liberty bell, museum. We may opt for one of the jump on jump off tour buses.
Any info will be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: Philly Where to stay what to do?
Have stayed at many places... All were good. To do w 13 year old: Duck tours Rodin museum Philly water ices Cheesesteak showdown (go to the corner where they have the 2 places & see which you like best) Zoo Aquarium (if interested) That indoor market place they have for food
We could have spent a week there! Have fun!
Eta: no car needed: we would drive down, leave car in long term parking & walk around/take the bus

Jefferson museum is also good for that age.

i grew up right outside philly. the Franklin Institute is great for that age- its like a science museum. Reading terminal market is fun to walk around with all different kinds of food booths and stuff to see Duck tour Philly zoo would probably be fun, too
not far outside philly is a couple indoor water parks (sahara sams, and i think theres a coco cay there now, too...)
