Anyone do Disney in late January?

Thinking of doing Disney in late January. Anyone have any experience going then? Were you able to go swimming at all during your trip?

We go down a lot at the end of January. Parks are relatively quiet which is nice.

The weather is iffy. We've had trips where we were able to lay out and hit the pool and other trips where we were wearing winter coats. It's very hard to predict.

We went towards the end of this past January and it was the perfect weather for us. We weren't able to swim because it was too cold. We wore layers and always started the day with a jacket and ended up in short sleeves by lunch. There was one day that we needed hats and gloves while watching the fireworks at MK.

It's the best time of year to go honestly. The weather is great, you're not dripping with sweat, and the crowds are lower.

Weather is good but generally not pool weather. You could get the rare really warm day but I wouldnt book banking on the fact you will be able to go swimming.

Was there this past January (the end of January). Had one "warm" day, the rest were freezing. Had to buy gloves lol

Def not swimming weather.

ETA: The parks were packed. All of them.

My friend recently went in late January and she said it was very low crowds. Definitely not pool weather though.

I personally loved late April after breaks are done. All the school kids are in school and you have wonderful pool weather before it gets too hot.

We can no longer go then because my kids are school aged.

It's definitely hit or miss weather wise. Their pools are heated, so kids are always in them, even when it's cold! Our February trip it was a little chilly for pools IMO, but we went everyday!

Re: Anyone do Disney in late January?

I've been there the second week of January back on 2007. I dont know if we hit an exceptionally mild winter for them, but we had absolutely amazing weather. 75-80 degrees every day. And the Parks were empty.

I enjoyed it.

This year, we went February break.

Weather was perfection. (May have been a tab bit chilly for the pool, but perfect walking weather.
Crowds were insane.

Same here! It's depressing when you leave. You think you will be going 2X a year? The AP is totally the way to go, but I can't see us going 2X in one year.

Yeah I'm not totally sure, I definitely want to go with just the four of us early 2017 but wouldn't rule out a summer '17 vacation with grandparents, cousins, etc. Seems a bit gluttonous to type Chat Icon
