Cruise People: Returning flight Q
We're pricing out a Disney Cruise next year leaving for Port Canaveral. I know Disney buses will take you back to the Orlando Airport but I'm wondering if I will have enough time to make our flight.
Here is the breakdown:
7:30 am Disembark 9am Arrive at MCO (Orlando Airport) 11:30 Flight
Is this reasonable? Can I expect to actually leave the ship at disembark time listed or is that a joke? Also, I'm told that it's an hour bus ride. Is that reasonable?
I'm looking to fly from Orlando to Fort Myers and there is only one nonstop flight through United so my choices are limited.
Thank you!

If you let the cruise line know you have an early flight they can usually put you on the first group to disembark.

I think it's doable with express walk off (i.e. you carry your own bags off, you do not leave them outside the night before) and you get on the first bus. However, I'm pretty sure that Disney recommends you don't book anything prior to noon due to the fact that there could be delays with the ship getting back into port.

Re: Cruise People: Returning flight Q
Very reasonable if you are not checking in luggage and carry your own bags off the ship.
On our first disney cruise, we had a 1:30pm flight. I think there was a 10;50 and a 11:55 flight prior to ours. I did stand by and did not get on. It was a loooong 4.5 hours at the airport.
On our second disney cruise, we had a ~11:30 flight. it was perfect. We got off the ship around 8, got to the airport at 9 and was not rushed at all.
We did only carry on for both trips and did not check in luggage. We also carried our luggage off the ship for both trips.

i was gonna say the same thing--- you would probably have to do the express walk offf--- where you carry your own bags off of the ship (instead of leaving them outside the night before for them to take). it can take awhile to get off the ship if you need to go through customs, etc in port....

What others said- let the cruise line know you have an early flight so they let you disembark first.
ETA I have caught at 12 noon flight the day we disembarked and there was more than enough time.

Agree flight time shouldn't be an issue.
You might want to look into alternative transportation though.

This.
They are usually rushing people off these ships on disembarkation day anyway, so you should be one of the first to depart.
