Are there people smoking everywhere on a cruise?
I had no idea that it was allowed in cabins, etc. I am so upset now. I hate the smell of smoke and def don't want Andrew being around it for 9 days
Where there a lot of people smoking when you went on your cruise?

On the cruises I've been on their was absolutely no smoking in the cabins (it's a big fire risk). Their are designated smoking areas on the ship.
When i was booking cruises I actually had to call the cruise line and ask them about a client I had that is on medical marijuana and even she couldnt smoke in her cabin. She had to smoke in the designated smoking section.

Re: Are there people smoking everywhere on a cruise?
there is technically no smoking allowed in cabins, but you know people do anyway. smoking on balconies is also a really big thing, but it never really bothered us. on the decks - usually one side is reserved for smoking and one side is non-smoking.
as for how prevelant it is - it depends on the mix of cruisers. Remember that in many European countries, smoking is still very acceptable, so if you have a larger European population on your cruise, you are going to see more of it.

While you can't smoke in the cabins - I have always seen people smoking on their balconies (even cigars at times).
There are specific areas designated for smoking - and on some boats - one side of the ship is designated - so certain lounges or the casino will have a side you can smoke on - but it largely depends on what cruiseline you are traveling on as to how much or how little smoking you will see.
If you are going on a cruise in Europe expect a lot more smokers.

There were no smoking signs all over the ship we were just on and the cabins were non-smoking. There were designated smoking sections.
I HATE being around smokers... the only time I had to be around it was in the casino and they only allow cigarettes not cigars.

Same with the cruise I went on. I barely noticed anyone smoking at all.

Re: Are there people smoking everywhere on a cruise?
On our cruise the only placed I found noticably smoky was the casino. And I am highly sensitive to smoke
ETA: I went on the same ship your going on I think- the miracle right?
Smoking IS allowed in cabins, but they have some like super powered cleaning agent they use so that you never smell a whiff of smoke in the rooms on the carpet. Its really amazing.

This was true on the Celebrity cruise we were on last month. There was one night we went to the Champagne/Martini lounge for a before dinner drink and they allowed smoking everywhere in the lounge which was extreamly annoying. I couldn't sit there very long and we ended up taking our drinks and leaving. I was annoyed about that because it was a really nice lounge.

Re: Are there people smoking everywhere on a cruise?
The Area that i noticed the most smoke...like everyone else said was the casino.
We once had a room that was one floor up from the casino and everytime we walked out of our room the hall way smelled like smoke.

We also went on a Princess cruise where we had a door connect to another room. Well, They smoked so much that it would sip into our room. The Stewart had to go in 3 times a day just to empty the ash trays. It was so gross! our clothes smelled like smoke.
