toddler not liking changes
DS is almost 2 and he hates when material things change. He is ok with environmental changes, routine changes, etc but cant handle things like a new cup.
Here are a few things that happened recently that make me wonder whats going on...
We got him new cups - the same brand/type as his current cups, but a new pattern since they dont make the same ones anymore. He refuses to drink from it
we put on a pair of new socks...they had a different grippy pattern on the bottom than his current socks. He noticed and kept saying "no like, no like", but I distracted him and got them on him and put his shoes on. I thought i was in the clear, but a few minutes later, he started carrying on, pulled off his shoes and socks, and went to his draw and took out other socks to put on.
yesterday I was doing laundry so I washed his pillow case and put a new one on for his nap time. He threw a tantrum because it wasnt his normal pillow case. Eventually he took his nap...but he threw his pillow out of the crib and slept without it.
im guessing (hoping) this is normal toddler behavior; although I never experienced it with DD
Has anyone else gone through this and have any tips or want to share how long it lasts?

Sounds normal.
I advise a nice glass of something strong after he goes to sleep. And maybe at nap time too if needed. Lol
Just wait till the F'ing threes.
Sorry, it's hard no real advice. Mine change daily what they care about so I will say hang in there

Glad to hear its normal...dd (who is 3) must have skipped this phase so its new to me. the fun never ends with toddlers
Right now we have my 2yo going through this and my 3yo only wanting her momma...fun times

I have the SAME issue with the pillow case. She'll only sleep with a specific one....

oh my recent 3 yr old apparently hates change lol. We got a new car and she cried for over week everytime she was in it. She hated it. "i want your old car back. go get it" lmao
