Boston hotel and restaurants
Can anyone recommend a hotel and restaurants? We love good restaurants and looking for a nice reasonable hotel. Going for two nights.

We loved loved loved The Boxer Hotel. It's a boutique hotel, great breakfast. Awesome rooms (a bit on small side but maybe you can get a bigger one - we just did a couple trip and it was fine for us.) we would stay there again in a heartbeat. It gets great reviews too.
For dinner we went to Elephant & Castle. We enjoyed that too.

We went last year on a "budget" trip and stayed at the Courtyard Marriott Downtown - it's in the theater district, less than a 10 minute walk to the main tourist areas like Boston Common, everything was newly redone and very pretty and clean.
One night we ate at Gaslight Brasserie - a little out of the way, but really great food.

We stayed at the Marriott Long Wharf. It was right across from the aquarium and very close to Quincy Market. I don't know why we didn't eat at Legal Seafoods- I know we ate once at Joe's American Bar & Grill which was pretty good. There are a lot of restaurants in walking distance. The hotel was awesome too. Besides the location we just thought it was really nice.

the boxer hotel!!! i LOVED IT!! here is my fiances review: lol
Winner by KO” 5 of 5 starsReviewed September 21, 2015 via mobile Expect to be floored. With a physique wrought from steel & stone--rugged yet polished--& fighting out of Boston's West End, The Boxer is within punching range of TD Garden, The North End, Boston Common, Faneuil Hall & The Freedom Trail. With a slick 1-2 combination of free bike rentals & wifi, this prizefighter hits well above its class & delivers...

Re: Boston hotel and restaurants
I live in Boston and no joke all we do is eat and go out these are some of our faves
If you like seafood, strong cocktails and money isn't an issue - go to Ostra
Quaint, small French place - Ma Maison. Gaslight as someone mentioned is really good but not really in Boston proper.
Steak - Mooo, Abe and Louie's, Strip by Strega
Italian - Toscano (in beacon hill)
American - 75 Chestnut, Sonsie, Stephanie's on Newbury
Mexican - Lolita's Cocina (trendy and delicious)
So many more that I can't think of. I feel like Yelp is usually pretty accurate.
How could I forget - Bistro du Midi!

Haha I posted about The Boxer, too. I tell anyone who is headed to Boston about it. Loved that place!

We stayed near the aquarium too (but we were on a budget so we stayed at the harborside inn). I liked the location because there was a lot of stuff to do in the area, besides the aquarium of course.... We were right near Quincy Market, freedom trail....We were able to walk to the North End area where there were a lot of Italian restaurants, and of course Mike's Pastry- they have the BEST cannoli's.

Did you like the Harborside Inn? I really loved staying in that area and we want to revisit Boston but yes, the Marriott is pricey- we went when DH had a conference so not only did we get a great rate, his school put $100 a night towards the room so it was nearly free. I don't envision getting that deal again soon.

Yes it was fine for us, we figure we weren't going to spend a lot of time in the hotel anyway, and it was walking distance to bars and stuff.
