Combined Bday Party - WWYD
I'm most likely going to do a combined 3rd bday for DD and 1st bday for DS in August. It will be at the house, BBQ, kid entertainment, etc.
DD has been invited to three school bday parties, which have all been at kid places. Do I invite her classmates? I feel awkward because it will also be my son's but at the same time don't want to leave anyone out. There are only 11 kids in her class but between parents, siblings, it adds up. Not concerned with cost, more the space.
Thoughts?

I think it would be nice to invite her classmates, especially if you're having something for the kids like entertainment, but if there's a space issue, then it's not necessary.
DS is 3 and we invited his whole class to his party and since then he's been invited to everyone's. He gets so excited to see his "school friends" outside of daycare and it's always been a great time. But, I wouldn't be upset if he wasn't invited to one kid's party from his class...especially b/c I probably wouldn't even know if there even was a party!

I threw a joint 1st and 3rd birthday party. I made 2 sets of invitations. For DS's preschool class, it was an invitation for just DS. For our friends, it was a joint party invitation.
The entire class will not come and most families will come with 1 parent and 1 child.
Our family never went as a family to a classmate birthday party. There are a handful of friends that we made through preschool and DH may also come but usually it is only 1 parent plus 1 child to classmate parties.

Don't assume that the entire class will not come... I invited my son's whole class and everyone but one kid came! Totally did not expect that at all!

Are you friendly with the classmates outside of school? My DS is an August baby too. We don't see his classmates unless its during the school year so I just skip inviting them altogether.

I wouldn't assume that. My DS's whole class came, including 1 person who didn't RSVP.

Honestly for house parties with family I never invited classmates.
