Low Lying Placenta

At my 19 week scan my placenta was touching my cervix, covering it a bit. I had a scan today at 24 weeks and it was 2 cm away from the cervix, so they call this a low lying placenta.

It is obviously creeping up, but did anyone have it move up, then go back down, or once it starts moving up, it will stay up?

The scan was a little odd because when they did a vaginal scan it was 2 cm away, when they did the one on my belly, it was no where near my cervix.

I go back in 2 weeks for another scan, but just wondering about the above?

Thanks!

Low Lying Placenta

I had low lying placenta with both pregnancies and it went up and down with DS. With DD it went up and stayed up. I remember having to go back more frequent once they discovered it, to monitor it.

Low Lying Placenta

I had previa at 13 weeks, by 30ish weeks it was at 2cm and it moved more by 33 weeks. I did deliver early but that was because of hypertension not a low-lying placenta. The mark they wanted to get to to rule out a c-section for the placenta was 2cm... I ended up with one anyway, but again, for totally unrelated reasons.

I had one that bled... It was terrible.
It did totally move up by the end of pregnancy.

Low Lying Placenta

I had one at my 12 week scan. By 20 weeks, it was fine and they never mentioned it again.

I had one at the 10 or 12 week scan -- I also bled. It gradually moved up little by little, but they monitored it. I also had short cervix, and delivered at 36 weeks.
