Suddenly weepy 3 year old
My dd,turning 3 in a few weeks, is generally a happy kid. When not, it's more whining, wanting to be independent, etc. Honestly, I can't remember the last time she cried.
The last few days she has been very weepy. Cried when I dropped her off to school, cried when my husband say in a different chair at the table, crying in the middle of the night, etc.
I am expecting, due the last week in December but she has known since May, and I don't know if she understands the timeline, so I don't want to assume it's due to this. She doesn't seem like she's getting sick. Any ideas?

Suddenly weepy 3 year old
IMO its typical. My DS goes through periods of time when he is like this. Just a phase.
She will most likely go through something when the baby is born though.

She may be anticipating the change. There's probably a lot of changes going on in your house, preparing for the new baby. I would try to ride it out and just be as reassuring as possible.
It's also very typical for a 3yo, too.

Could she be having a growth spurt? I wouldn't put too much worry too it. It will probably pass quickly.

Yes ugh we are dealing with this too but DD is almost 4 and it's still going on.
It could definitely be worse because of the new baby coming, but IMO this is common for this age and especially for little girls.

Re: Suddenly weepy 3 year old
Thanks, I know the baby coming is potentially playing a big role, bit it helps to hear this is normal for her age. My heart breaks when she cries!

Re: Suddenly weepy 3 year old
My son has about 12 emotions each day...he just turned 3. At that age I think they're just trying everything out.

I call it the emotional 3s
And it lasts till the 5's. Especially girls. My DD is like an emotional PMSing woman, 24/7!
