2 year old suddenly afraid of everything?
My DD all of the sudden is scared of all animals. She absolutley LOVES them, and it was like she woke up one day and decided she was scared of them. My sister has a small dog and DD loves hm and loves playing with him. Last week Iwent to my sisters house and she would not go into the house because of the dog. M sister had to put him outside.
Sunda we went to the Bronx Zoo because she loves zoos and we had not taken her yet. We have a zoo by m house we are members of and go all the time. She loves it there. Anyway, she was TERRIFIED of the animals. I mean it was true terror. She was clinging to me for dear life.
I can't imagine why this started. Is it common for toddlers to suddenly be afraid like this? Even with the TV, ifna show comes on that has a dog, she makes me turn it off. Yesterday, she freaked at Elmos World because he had dinosaurs on.

Re: 2 year old suddenly afraid of everything?
My DD (2 yrs 4 months) just started with this. She used to love dogs, now she's terrified of dogs. Now the new thing she's afraid of is school buses (????). When I bring DS to pre-K, I've had to carry her through the parking lot because there are school buses there, while she buries her face in my shoulder saying "Fraid of that! Fraid of that!"

Welcome to the age of fear! I am in the thick of it right now. One minute Aidan loves something and the next he is telling me he is scared. What I try and do is just reassure him that all is well and that we will always take care of him. That and we're giving him more lovies at night. This was a kid who initially didn't have a lovie or want anything in his crib. now, it's getting tight in there- soon there won't be any room for him!
Seriously, Samantha is going through a totally age appropriate thing.
