Disney in June / Wilderness Lodge

We usually go every year at the end of April for our anniversary, but this year its spring break.

We decided to use my pin code and go the first week in June. For those of you who've gone during this time, how is the heat & how are the crowds?

Also, this will be the first time for us staying at the Wilderness Lodge. Any pros/cons/tips?

Early June's heat is not usually unbearable - it's better than July and August. The crowds do start picking up after Memorial Day. Schools down south are already out. It doesn't start getting "summer crowded" until after the northern schools close though.

I love the Wilderness Lodge. It's one of my favorite resorts. However, they are constructing new DVC villas so it is under construction. I don't know whether it will affect the main lodge, but you may want to investigate a little before you book. It wouldn't bother me to stay there during the construction if it was a good deal, but if it was my first and possibly only stay there, I would be a little hesitant.

i've never been in June- so i don't know about that...
BUT we just stayed at WL on our trip in September. LOVED LOVED it!!!! its gorgeous!!! and not huge, so you can get around easily- they have a great new kid's "spray ground" area, and the boat to MK is quick and easy! BUT like the last poster said, they are doing a ton of construction on the DVC section of it--- adding some new villas i think, and redoing the DVC pool.... and i think they're also doing some stuff down by the beach area too- adding a new restaurant i think?? SOOO definitely think about all of that before you book!! not sure how much it'll affect the main building- but i'm sure you'll hear noise, etc which might not be great, depending on how much you're planning to hang around the resort. and the main pool will be more crowded since the DVC pool is going to be closed for awhile....

They are planning work down by the beach area - they are building DVC units down by the water. I don't know the timetable for the work. I'd just do my homework before booking.

We went in June 2013. It was HOT, and it rained every single day of the 11 days we were there. We took two showers a day, every day. DH now refuses to go in June.
